printed sleeves are produced on our 8 colour press. Industries supplied
include food, beverage, toiletries, cosmetic and pharmaceutical
among others. Sleeves are produced on a 2 shift basis Monday-Friday
with flexibility to increase production when the need arises. .

Flexo
printed sleeves are produced on a 6 colour press. The type of sleeves
printed are mainly promotional, eg. "2 for the price of 1"
and are generally supplied to contract packers who specialise in
their application onto the product. Lead times on flexo sleeves
are quicker than gravure because of the use of plates rather than
engraved cylinders. Sleeves are supplied in cut piece or reel format |

Plain sleeves are mainly used in conjunction with say a self adhesive label that generally details the promotion. Plain sleeves supplied can have some or all of the following features:

The
provision of visual evidence of tampering has been done in many ways
but to be effective, the evidence must be apparent
to the customer as the product sits on the shelf. This brings into
question methods such as foiling that require the removal of another
barrier, the lid for example, before the tamper evident feature is
encountered. Shrink sleeves are always the most external layer and with the use of a perforation, are changed enough after removal to become visually effective. The acid test of a Tamper Evident sleeve is that attempts to replace it are seen as such. Other methods such as narrow labels can sometimes be removed and replaced and are also susceptible to transit damage thus rendering the product unsaleable to an observant purchaser. |

| If a particular product line is to be protected in this way attention to the quality of perforation and shrinking is essential and it must always be remembered that we are talking about Tamper Evidence NOT Tamper Proofing as the latter is almost impossible to guarantee. | |
